| Hypothyroidism |
![]() It may surprise you to learn that when it comes to thyroid conditions, many women are misdiagnosed, incompletely diagnosed, or they fall victim to what I consider the BIGGEST flaw in the health care system – a flaw that puts them at risk for developing even more serious diseases in the future.
The tragic truth is that our current healthcare system basically ignores the most common cause of Hypothyroidism in the United States. We are a fitness, thinness-crazed culture that pays little attention to actual health. We should know by now that no diet or fitness program works the same way for everyone. There are genetic and environmental factors, lifestyle choices and medical conditions that all contribute to our fundamental health. But we continue to look at the outside and treat systems. Perhaps you are one of those women that has been told your thyroid is normal because your lab results are normal. Perhaps you've been taking thyroid medications for some time but still suffer from some of these Common Hypothyroid Symptoms:
I see women in this situation all the time; women, who have just given up, because no matter how long they've been "just not feeling right", they've been told time and again, that they are fine. Their lab results come back normal and so they get advice to eat better, join a gym and fill a fistful of prescriptions.
There is a very common root cause of a low-functioning thyroid that is often completely neglected to a general lack of understanding of the complexities of thyroid function. Ignoring the relationship between thyroid function, these symptoms and the villain in the thyroid picture dramatically increases risk for developing even more serious diseases in the future. |
